MTA Hall of Famer, Gene Whyte Passes

Donald Eugene “Gene” Whyte, a long time active member and Hall of Fame inductee of the Missouri Trappers Association passed away Tuesday, October, 19th. Gene was a very avid outdoorsman who loved the sport of hunting, fishing and trapping. Gene didn’t keep his knowledge of these outdoor pursuits to himself as he often shared his know how to others, especially kids. He especially liked sharing with others what he knew about trapping and how to catch any critter from muskrats to bobcats. Trapping was a sport that he truly loved. Family and friends were very important to him and he would lend a hand to anyone in need. Thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 25, 2021 at the Schlanker Funeral Home in Montgomery City, MO. Interment will be in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, north of Montgomery City, MO. Mr. Stan Carroz will officiate.
