Ron Pantry's Obituary


Ronald Duane Pantry, 55 of rural Lancaster, Missouri passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, July 7, 2018.

The son of Harrison Duane (Bud) and Diana Lou (Longfellow) Pantry, he was born on January 16, 1963 in Creston, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Mormon Trail High School of Garden Grove, Iowa. On June 6, 1987 at the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Bunch and to this union four children were born, Sarah Diann, Kathleen Michelle, Jacob Lee and Willis Duane.

Ron is survived by his wife, Jennifer Pantry of Lancaster, Missouri; children, Sarah Pantry and fiancée Tonch Craver of Lancaster, Missouri, Katie Cordray and husband, Mikey and their upcoming bundle of joy (Little Ron) of Pittsfield, Illinois, Jake Pantry of Three Rivers, Michigan, Will Pantry of Lancaster, Missouri and a claimed son, Wyatt Picton and his family Renatta and Lola (born on Ron’s birthday); his mother, Diana Pantry of Lancaster, Missouri; one brother, Greg Pantry and wife, Debbie of Lancaster, Missouri; two special nieces and ten nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; twelve cousins; five aunts and uncles; two sisters-in-law and too many friends to name.

Ron is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Bud Pantry on February 6, 2004; one sister, Pamela Kay Pantry in infancy; one cousin, Monica Longfellow; his father and mother-in-law, Colonel and Ann Bunch and brother-in-law, Colonel Bunch, Jr.

Ron was a baptized member of the Lancaster Christian Church and most recently was attending the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri. After moving to Lancaster in 1984, he milked cows with his parents until 2004. After selling the cows, he continued to farm until he got involved in recycling. In addition to recycling, he performed custom hauling and skid loader work for the Drakesville, Iowa Amish community. Ron was a lifetime member of the Missouri and National Trappers Associations, the Dairy Farmers of America and the American Haflinger Association. He was a former National Trappers Association Director and currently served on the Schuyler County Public Water Board.
