Fur Buyer Charles "Chuck" Boelkes Passes


Charles "Chuck" Boelkes, age 65, of Linn, Passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017, at his residence near Linn, Missouri.

Chuck was born on April 6, 1952, in Fulton, Missouri, a son to the late Walter and Carrie (Maddox) Boelkes. His mother survives in Jefferson City.

Chuck was a 1970 graduate of Ashland High School.

Chuck was united in marriage on June 20, 1970, in Columbia, to Marsha (Gibson) Boelkes, she survives at their home.

Chuck was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Ashland, National Trappers Association, Fur Takers of America and the NRA.

Chuck was a self-employed contractor, commercial fisherman and fur buyer. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trapping.

In addition to his mother and wife of 46 years, Chuck is survived by one son, Charles W. Boelkes, Jr., of Bonnots Mill; daughter, Sherry Wimberley and her husband Bruce of Bonnots Mill, six grandchildren, Katherine Lehman, Austin Boelkes, Angie Ablondi, Justin Kobusch, Sheryl Boelkes and Amos Boelkes; a great granddaughter, Hailey Holtmeyer; sister, Mary Ann Reeter and her husband David of Jefferson City; neice, Melissa Draffen and her husband Chris along with a great neice.

Chuck is preceded in death by his father, Walter Boelkes.
